Their scamming of customers has led to an F rating from the BBB and a lowly 2.1 rating after 1,644 reviews on Pissed Consumer. My Pillow was also the target of a 2016 class-action lawsuit for false advertising, which the company settled for $1 million. The lawsuit challenged My Pillow's claim of being able to cure fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea, cerebral palsy, acid reflux, and other conditions, and also complained of founder and spokesperson Michael J Lindell marketing himself as a "sleep expert", despite having no board certification or training in sleep medicine.
