Poland Spring's water comes from various springs, all in the state of Maine. They include the namesake Poland Spring and Garden Spring in Poland, Clear Spring in Hollis, Evergreen Spring in Fryeburg, Spruce Spring in Pierce Pond Township, White Cedar Spring in Dallas Plantation, and Bradbury Spring in Kingfield. Though the company says their water comes from springs, a 2003 class action lawsuit claims that Poland Spring's bottled water is actually
heavily treated groundwater. The suit was
settled months later, with Poland Springs agreeing to pay $10 in discounts to consumers and charity donations, but not having to admit to the allegations.
