Can you water plants with tea?

When it comes to gardening, a tip you may come across is to use leftover tea to water your plants. Though science seems to suggest that the nutrient balance found in dried tea leaves may not be ideal for plants, there are certainly people who use leftover tea to water their plants to good results. Perhaps, like any other fertilizer, tea is something that can be beneficial until it's overdosed, and diluting it with some water can keep it on the safe side of things. Another thing to consider is that tea is acidic. This can be beneficial if your water's pH is high, or if your plant is a species that prefers acidic conditions.
